1.Despite the high quality of its production, the series was apparently cancelled because of the large Western presence.

2. The show only ran for one series, but it still managed a total of 38 episodes.

3. Stagecoach West was broadcast in black and white. Airing on ABC TV from October 1960 to June 1961.



4. In episode The Arsonist, a retiring bookkeeper (Jethrow) agrees to help his boss destroy his factory in return for insurance money. It all goes wrong though when the boss is killed in a failed robbery.

5. There were numerous cameos on the show including William Campbell, James Coburn, Jack Elam and Billy Gray.

6. The theme of Stagecoach West was composed by Skip Martin and Terry Gilkyson. Whilst the vocals were Bud and Travis.

Stagecoach West will broadcast again from July 26 (every morning from 07:00) on Talking Pictures, available on Freeview 81, Sky 343, Freesat 306, Youview 81.
