1. Aired between 1981 to 1991 - it was then followed by a series of Christmas specials until 2003.

2. 24,300,000 people tuned in to watch Time On Our Hands - making it the highest United Kingdom audience for a sitcom episode alone.

3. The theme tune was originally created for duo Chas and Dave to sing. However after they rejected due to availability, producer Ray Butt persuaded series writer John Sullivan to sing the song.

4. Del Boy was penned to be Jim Broadbent, but the actor turned down the role. He has since stated that he doesn't regret that decision.

5. In 2004, Only Fools and Horses was voted Britain's Best Sitcom. It also received various plaudits from BAFTAs, the National Television Awards and the Royal Television Society.

6. Only one stuntman throughout the series was used for David Jason. It was in Tea for Three, when his character goes hand gliding. The stunt actor was the late Ken Barker, who also provided backing for films such as Indiana Jones and Superman.
