Interview with Euphoria actor RUBEN DARIO, “I love the timeless style of the show. The way it is shot is very stylized and beautiful.”

Following the life of Rue, a 17-year-old drug addict who is found by her sister after overdosing. Euphoria sees Rue sent back to rehab, but surprisingly the facility only helps her to hide the addiction.


Talking to Telly Binge, Ruben says this is real life. “I think viewers are going to see the reality of what it’s like to be a teenager in a post 911 world.”

“They will also see how choices of everyone in the family – adult and child, can affect each other.”

The cast of the television series include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi and Barbie Ferreira. It has been created by Sam Levinson and is based on the Israeli series released in 2012.


Ruben plays Ted, who is the father of Maddy. “I think it’s a fantastic role because you can see how his choices affect his daughter’s life.”

“Her family dynamic is educating her in what type of relationship she wants to have with her boyfriend.”

Fellow actress Nika King says the show will resonate with both young and old viewers. Ruben agrees, “We all have families, live in communities and are exposed to group dynamics. This show will speak to everyone.”

“I have two young kids and the series is a great look into challenges they might face in the future.”

Locations the show has been filmed at include California’s Ulysses S. Grant High School, Sony Pictures Studios and Del Amo Fashion Center.

Ruben meanwhile is busy with real life – “I am trying to get my four-year-old to let me brush her hair!”

“I have some comedy roles on TV for the fall and I’m looking forward to exploring my role more in Season 2 of Euphoria.
