Interview with AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 2016 Quarter-Finalist MOYA ANGELA. She talks about her first audition, performing in London's Dreamgirls and watching This is Us.

Moya sung It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, Alone and I Don’t Know My Strength throughout her stay on AGT.

The talented actress says she enjoyed AGT. “It is super nice to have experienced being on the show. The experience is un-matchable.”

When asked if the show helped her career, Moya added. “Not really. My career started before AGT, so it did not make me who I am today.”

This year will see the premier of Season 13, with Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Tyra Banks all set to re-appear. It will air in America from May 29.

Though what is it really like to appear on the show? “It was all pretty surreal actually. It is a very well-oiled machine, much organised than other shows I have known.”

Whilst there is no doubting her favourite moment. “It was my first audition in front of the judges and I got a standing ovation from all four of them. Simon said he would remember that moment for the rest of his life.”

“I cried like a baby. It was a very memorable moment because it let me know I was in the right place doing the right thing.”

Stepping away from AGT, and Moya is debuting in the West End as Effie White in Dreamgirls. She first auditioned for a role in Dreamgirls in 2006, and has since appeared at New York’s Apollo Theatre and in a North America tour. Tickets are currently available for this year’s UK show at the Savoy Theatre.

“Dreamgirls is so glamorous and transports you straight back to the 60’s during the Motown music era. It’s about a group of girls who would do anything to make it in the industry – but learns it comes at a cost.”

“Effie has a big heart, attitude and voice. She gets her heart broken and loses her away. She figures it out in the end, through her own personal changes.”

So why should you watch it? “Anybody can relate to this show universally. It also has the best singing in the West End. Dreamgirls is not to be missed.”

“I will continue giving my all in the show and work on making a name for myself here in the West End.”

Most importantly, what television show is she currently digging? “This Is Us, because it is well written and the acting is so believable and tear jerking.”
